Why we built this
Engineering leaders are asked the same questions over and over: How fast are we delivering? Is quality holding up? Are we hitting the roadmap we committed to? Where is the team's effort actually going? Boards and investors want the same answers, framed in numbers they can compare over time.
Most teams already record the truth in Jira. The problem is that getting from raw issues to a trustworthy metric usually means spreadsheets, manual exports and a lot of arguing about definitions. We built Delimetrics so the answers come straight from the data the team is already creating, with consistent definitions, no new process to adopt and no time tracking to police.
That is why we connect only to Jira Cloud and read your custom fields for team, work type and the capitalizable flag. No Git, no CI, no agents on developer machines. Setup takes minutes and login is a magic link, so there is nothing for your team to install or remember.
The capitalization angle
One question that comes up again and again from finance and investors is how much engineering work is capitalizable. The usual answer involves time tracking, which engineers dislike and which is rarely accurate anyway. Delimetrics takes a different route: it produces a modeled estimate of CapEx versus OpEx from the work you already classify in Jira, weighting period cost by the share of capitalizable tickets delivered.
We are deliberate about this. The capitalization figure is a defensible modeled estimate, not an accounting record. It gives engineering and finance a shared, repeatable basis for the conversation, without asking anyone to fill in timesheets.
